I have this really awesome vintage Mid-Century Modern area rug that we purchased at an auction years ago. At the time I thought it might be Swedish or Scandinavian but I recently was told that it was a rather unique Turkish rug made sometime between 1955 and 1965. I've been searching on line for more information or something that looks similar to it but to no avail. The rug measures 8' 7.5" x 5' 7.5" with the repeated pyramid or triangle on triangle motif thru out. There is another design on the lighter triangle motifs. So, I am hoping that someone out there may be able to give more information on this beauty. Do the triangles or the other design have any significance? Is there a name for this type of design? Any idea if there was a specific maker or area the rug might have been made? Excited to learn more about this rug if there is any info out there. Thanks in advance.
very beautiful!!
