I bought this at a consignment store 6 years ago because our family had grown. Although it was not perfect by any means, I didn't expect it to be because it is old!

it is an extension table and opens with a crank. With the leaves inserted, it is 90" long. The top is figured walnut veneer and the chairs are burled walnut. The top has a few small bubbles on it, and a few places that look like a baby teeth end on it, although it didn't do damage to the finish. I found it funny and part of the history. The original wooden wheels are still on the table legs. When both leaves are in, there is some definite warping, but nothing to detract from the flow of the wood pattern.

The consignment store said the lady who owned it bought it in Salem, MA years earlier. There is a name of Rosenberg underneath the table on what appears to be an old moving label.

I queried an antiques dealer in Miami who thought it was possible it could be a Waring and Gillows set. Said it was definitely English and maybe 90 years old...or older. But without crawling around and seeing it in person, couldn't tell for sure.

If anyone has any other ideas, I'm all ears! Thank you for looking!

Beautiful! Where are the wheels on the feet? Under the claw & Ball? What kind of animal feet are they? It's hard to tell.

Hi Celiene. Thank you. The wheels are under the claw and ball. Rather hard to see in the photo since they sink on carpet! Definitely talons, not paws on the feet which threw me initially as I was thinking American made would be more prone to use talons and English use paws. However, it appears the English used a lot of talons as well.
