Here is a ceramic nude that I paid to have identified. Results, no ID. -- She is 13" tall, 3lbs of ceramic, hand painted face, She has a nail cast in at the bottom of her feet covered by an old cork. I believe she is missing her arms. I have had her so long I named her Vera because she is unique. She has no hallmarks. I thought she might be a boudoir statue from 1920's. I collect mannequin dolls from the 30 & 40's, she unlike them, has nipples, natural breasts, legs together and her buttock well rounded. She looks as if she had a wig or hair of some type. Can anyone tell me if they have seen a statue or doll like this?
Yeah, I'm here lurking ! I do prefer arms' when available !! LOL!!
She is a display mannequin for advertising , Arms arms missing as they are removable for ease in dressing her . She would have had a wig on . Not sure what she advertised or what she was on when displayed . Dates 1940's .
I have had these types of mini mannequins with legs together like your's in original clothes and both were dressed as brides ?
Wow I would love to see one dressed. And know what retail establishment they were used in. I would also like to know if the arms were wood or ceramic. So far all the mannequins I have were nude and arms carved of wood. I believe that it is for advertising. That's way it was mounted at one time. Ears are open. Thank you.
I have to see if I still have photo's of them I sold them many years ago and they went to Australia . Arms are made out of same material as body . You mention others you have with carved wood arms ? I have only seen carved wood on artist mannequins not display mannequins . you can email me a photo if you like to manikin1234@hotmail.com .
