Lovely miniature vase. It has a number of marks on the base, but could someone please tell me what the pattern name is? I'm not very familiar with Gouda pottery and I can't read it very easily...BER...something.

There are all kinds of Gouda pottery marks, made in different Dutch factories throughout Holland. It's not possible to tell you the pattern name unless another jug like this one can be found with the name listed. "Gouda" is a catch all term and doesn't mean that the jug was necessarily made in Gouda. There were many potters who made/signed their creations, and there is no complete list of them anywhere.

It might be BERTHA ???
vetrai50 - I tried "Bertha", "Berpie"and "Bertie" (lol). I got sooooo many that look so much like each other, but none that looks like the one pictured above.

So many marks. I found the two diamonds on top of each other with a line through the middle.
After a while, all the handwriting looks the same.
Thanks for your comments everyone. I've been looking for hours to find the same pattern, on every website recommended and I haven't found it yet..it's very frustrating but I feel I'm on a mission now!

Does anyone recognise the decorator mark 'B' (I think).
This pattern isn't unknown, it just isn't listed anywhere. Literally thousands of ceramics were produced in Gouda and other places here in the Netherlands and I imagine that many of the local artists were not registered anywhere.

Thank you for your continued help, I hadn't quite realised the enormous amount of pottery produced and the volume of different patterns. I think a little patience on my part would help.
You're welcome. I also have unidentified Gouda pottery from the 1950s. I put them on my window ledge and admire them because I know I will end up in the Funy Farm if I even try to find out who made them and what their patterns are called.... :-D
I can tell you that Schoonhoven, Flora, Zuid Holland, Permerend, Regina, Goedewagon and Zenith are normally clearly identified on the bottoms of their ceramic items. "Gouda" could be anywhere, lol~!
The only connection to the pattern is the number, which often times isn't listed anywhere on the internet unless someone happened to post a corresponding piece of ceramic.
I certainly know what you mean about sending you crazy finding it! I don't normally pick up any Gouda pottery but this little piece caught my eye..and was only 50 pence! I guess you could say there's a pattern for everyone. I'll put this on my shelf and admire it too, my miniatures would benefit from some colour amongst them. In the mean time something might turn up, I'll certainly message you if it does....and I would be very grateful if you would let me know if you stumble upon anything.
