Well, I bought this today at an estate auction. I think it's really ugly, actually, but kind of beautiful at the same time. Anyway, I can NOT find any info on this clock/lamp online. There are no identifying marks. It looks like art deco era to me. There is felt on the bottom and I'm tempted to peel it off to see if there's something written there. It just says 'numechron' below the clock part. It's porcelain and weighs quite a bit.

If anyone can help me identify the manufacturer and/or age, etc., I would REALLY appreciate it. I don't know if I can give my email address so someone can contact me, but here it is (laura@customdecorator.com). If that isn't permitted, I guess I'll hear about it from someone!

    Thanks!
    Laura

The clock is a "Pennwood" Numechron and very unusual, this is the only one I have ever seen (I collect Pennwood/Lawson early digital clocks). It is a Television or Radio clock/lamp combination that could be set on the top of either. It probably dates from 1946-50.

A division of Pennwood produced ceramic case clocks under the name Tele-Vision a sleeping organ grinder with his monkey on top of his calliope. However the clock movement is labeled "Tele-Vision" and not "Numechron" as yours is. The Tele-Vision models have a Pennwood Tele-Vision label on the bottom and were dated August 1949 and did not include a light socket.

      Hope this helps.

On looking at the third picture closely, this could well be a Tele-Vision model, with a Pennwood replacement movement. I say this because the metal plate that holds the movement looks like the base of another Pennwood clock and has a wall mounting notch on the plate just behind the minute wheel. Either way it is a Pennwood manufactured clock.
