I have had this stunning unusual vase for years but no idea of maker. It is heavy and the ribbing is vertical one side and horizontal the other. Difficult to show as it looks patterned in squares!

beautiful!!
neat...may we have a base shot too. Thanks
Antiquerose - will do a base shot in the morning....
Hi antiquerose - I have posted a photo of the base but had to delete another photo. As I have just joined not too sure how many photos I can post...sure I will learn...eventually.
I thought Polish when I saw this and am glad Ivonne said so too.
It is really great pressed glass Collecterina....you have a great eye!
You delete one pic and add a pic of the very base underneath?? OR just start another post with a PART II of this vase with more pics and the bottom.
Thanks
Your vase is Polish. Zabkowice, designed by Jan Sylwester Drost, late 1960's
Many thanks deltab--that is really useful information....
Most welcome! A lovely vase too and quite collectible in its own right.
Yes it is a delightful piece of art...however as can be seen from my collection most of it will have to go so I have listed it on ebay...I have hundreds of pieces of glass and the family say they do not want it!! shame.
Problem is when I was a serious collector I knew the details of lots of pieces but now the memory is going and I find it really difficult to identify pieces. I want someone to come and take the lot and just keep my favourite pieces...
Anyway thanks again and after checking out Jan I could not find the exact piece in his glass but very similar....
Thanks again
There is one here, but a solid colour https://uk.pinterest.com/pin/397513104590276114/
I know what you mean. I have hundreds too and have started selling things off. I can't hold information like I used to. I have told my hubby I will start to label pieces so if anything happens to me he can sell them correctly.

That is the one I saw but it is not the same- if you look at my photos you will see mine is cased and you can see the clear at the base..I think mine is much nicer!! and the shape is not the same...but close.
This is Lindshammar:

Sorry, just because someone attributes a piece to a factory/designer, on Ebay, doesn't make it so and I would not put this piece to a Scandinavian factory of any kind. I will check on GMB when I return home for the thread that discusses these vases and put a link on here.
Happy Christmas! x
Swfinluvi - well the green coloured one is fabulous and I would say it is the same - anyway I have sold it now ....
Normally I would agree, Deltab, but in this case the posted item has a well-worn partial sticker from Lindshammar. I'm not a big fan of IDing by sticker since they can be added and removed without altering the piece. But when I see something like this with a sticker that appears to have been with the item for some time, that may be as close to an ID as you'll get unless you find a catalog or advertisement with a picture.
Collecterina, congrats on your sale. It was a lovely find, no matter the maker. Happy holidays!
