Last summer me and my husband travelled through Europe. We spent two weeks in the Italian Alps, in the beautiful Antrona Valley. Both of us love hiking. I took these pictures during our lunch in the hillside : I just ate sardines straight from the tin, and a smell immediately attracted a swarm of butterflies. I had some even on my other hand which held the camera. There are quite a few blue species and they are very similar in appearance. I think these are the so called Small Blue, but I might be mistaken. Their feast lasted nearly one hour. I don't remember did they leave me and flew away or I had to shoo them gently away because we had to continue in our hike. I knew they love poo and sweat, but it was a bit surprise for me they love fish.
Superb photos!
