I know this piece is not in perfect shape. Normally I wouldn’t buy it but the hand-painted mark interested me. I believe the mark dates back to the late 1700’s or early 1800’s. If I am correct, the piece is about 200 years old and, other than some loss of paint, it is in remarkable shape. Just imagine the history it might have witnessed!
Thanks for looking:)
stunning!!
Nice item!
This would have been 4.99 at my Savers.
Definitely a very good purchase!!!
Thanks for the comment, SEAN68:)
AmatoorPikr, it was $2.99 Canadian - that's just around $2.25 US or so. The places I sometimes go to are unpredictable. Today, there is almost nothing for sale there for less than 5 or 6 bucks. I have even found items there priced higher than the original retail price! I don't know what they are thinking!
Many thanks for the love: aura, Elisabethan, mikelv85, and racer4four:)
Many thanks, MyFavoriteTreasures:)
Thanks a lot, Trey:)
Here is Las Vegas, the stuff they sell in thrift stores like SAVERS and GOODWILL are pretty outlandishly priced. You won't find anything like this nice Creamer for only $2.39, so you have to really, really like something to buy it! GREAT find, freiheit! {;>)
Nevada Blades, thanks for your comment. I like to go to antique markets and auctions and if I really like something, I will buy. Most of the items I have do come from second-hand stores and church sales. GOODWILL closed down in Ontario, which is too bad. Value Village seems to be quite happy about that:) It's hard to find anything good there but sometime they miss something. But it gets harder and harder:(
My favorite places here in Vegas are yard sales, where you can find some really great bargains. Places like Goodwill and Savers, here in Las Vegas, are almost like regular retail stores. That wasn't always the case, but now......Don't know what happened to change things. :(
Thanks so much for your information, NevadaBlades. I went to the Gold and Silver Pawn shop. I just had to have a photo - LOL. The place was almost empty and other than jewelry there was not much of interest for sale. And some of the jewelry actually looked new to me. But I had a good time anyway. I am glad, however, that you gave me a heads up because so I kept my expectation at check.
I had a great time in Vegas overall and might come back one day. The weather and the nature were amazing but I don't think I could go there in the summer.
