Featuring the DC-4 or C-54 for the military transport version. Also there are free bonus photos.
Photo #3 is Douglas VC-118A. This was an Air Force 1 for President Kennedy, for short trips only. He had larger jet Air Force ones available. From the Pima Air Museum in Tucson.
Photo #4 is a Convair 240 at the Planes of Fame museum at Valle, AZ.
We have one of these that flys in & out of St. Maarten every now & then. No registration or any markings. Nobody seems to know anything about it.
Thank you very much blunderbuss. Does it carry white powder in small plastic packages.
I hear it is fun to watch planes take off and land there as they fly 50 feet above the beach.
Thank you

I've worked at Princess Juliana Airport & nobody ever would tell me about the mystery plane. By the way, the fence at beach level has been taken out a number of times in the past by the landing gear of (usually) 747's. I don't care what Myth Busters says, I was there when a car was brown over a 30+ cm. curb & 30-40 metres into the ocean (only about 10 cm of the top showing). Not the 1st time either. We aren't called the "Wayward Islands" for nothing !
If I ever go there I would be hanging out at that beach. But I will duck for the 747s.
I can't understand why people want to go on vacation & get sand blasted while being deafened ! Of course working at airports for years may explain my lack of enthusiasm for doing that.
It is like a monster truck rally or drug race but free.
"Drug race" Fort ! Those are held on another part of the island . I went out yesterday & took a pic. of the sign at the end of the runway for you. I don't poste on weekends, but will in a few days.
Oops drag race but then I could have been right. I don't post on weekends either.
Thank you
