Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can help me with this bangle I have inherited? It's a rose gold colour and has Asian writing stamped in the inside of it. It is quite old and has had some sort of enamel or similar on the outside that has been chipped off. It also has 'figure 8' all around it. I'm hoping someone can tell me what the writing means and also maybe what its made out of?
It looks like red copper, but can't really tell for sure just by seeing photos. Take it to a jeweler and have it tested for any gold content. The photo of the characters is not clear enough and too far away to see all of it.
Thanks, I've retaken a photo of the writing but not sure if that's much better.
Looks like copper, which the Chinese used as a base for enamel in pre-war era. But I'm no expert, perhaps one of the Asian peeps will drop a comment on your thread. It's an interesting bangle! :)
