I purchased the 2 compacts at an estate sale and I think they are from the 1930s.They are in great condition and I love the bird perched on a rose bush on the square compact. On the side it is written Volupte? (the last letter has worn over time)The round compact has a picture of the Empire exhibition in Scotland which was an international exposition held in Glasgow in 1938 the tower of empire is depicted in the picture.
P.S.
I have discovered the round compact is a 'Gwenda' made in England.
I love both of these.
I actually took some photos the other day of a few compacts I have to post and here you are! Mine are not so good as yours :(
Thank you racer4four I am sure yours are just as charming:))
