trying to get more information on this ww11? item? it has 2 triangles on the pouch one says7 r z not sure about the r? magazines have a mark also that says j 15 68 1015 with 2 eagles wings? I think they are German but not sure. Close up pictures
Probably for an MP40.
The MP 38/40 had strengthening corrugations on the sides (some exceptions) & several other of their SMG's, such as The Erma, used the same mags. Stick mags all look almost identical but we are using the "eagle" reference to say German. Except for the late war exceptions, this narrows it down some to ones I've had or know well. Maybe Bergmann 34 or MP 18-1 conversion, Schmeisser MP 28-2 & Steyr-Solothurn. The proportions almost make it appear to be for .45 cal. but the mag. pouch is too nice to be U.S. . Without the "eagle" & leather pouch I would have guessed Sten gun 1st & M3/M3A1 "grease gun 2nd. Are their no markings on the pouch ? PS: I've had the Bergmann MP 18-1 but it used the earlier Luger "snail drum" mag..
the pouch has 2 triangles one smaller then the other from what I can tell it says RZ ,but the 3rd letter can't make out the smaller one to small to see
Is the 3rd letter under the "RZ" ? I would like to see a pic of the side of a mag showing details of the top.
