Loetz Crete Vase - Anticipating the future

The is one of my favourite pieces of Loetz, simple, not hi-end museum quality, but is one of those that friends often point out that they really like.

I have had this for a very long time. Although I'm a collector, I'm not a hoarder and recycle parts of my collection from time to time, sometimes to make space, sometimes because my focus has changed. But this one has stayed, sometimes you just get overly attached.

For a piece over 100 years old it anticipates design ideas decades into the future. Simple, solid, but elegant all the same.
