Mystery Family Sampler

I have inherited this sampler and I don't know much at all about them. I would appreciate any information collectors could tell me about it. It measures 21" x 25" not including the matting or frame. At first it was thought it was a relative but with some knowledgeable research apparently a different line. It hung over my Aunt's bed forever and probably in her mothers house before that. Is the name at the tip the "artist" so to speak? Is there a name for samplers with birth and death dates? It is in excellent shape but I would like to know more. Thank you all in advance!
