I had an old 1930s/40s Ernest borel gold plated(lunnette) watch that no longer worked and I removed the band and put a 70s gold tone key with a cz and very easily put them on a long neck chain.
All I used was a pair of jewellers pliers and jump rings I have used 2 different chains one has faux pearls.
What a great idea.
Good old round nose pliers and jump rings does the job!
