A post by Andy Jelcic, following the discussion of "Crocus" decor.

Let me contribute this to the renewed "Crocus" discussion. At first I tended to believe that Crocus might be Pallme-Koenig due to its decor, ground color and even shapes. But gradually the evidence pointing towards Kralik became stronger. Kai's comparison to Heckert is interesting, but both Heckert examples have a straight shaft and a thick foot (and they are different in size). Here is my argumentation for Kralik. I hope that we all agree that banded decors are indeed Kralik. And also that the barrel as shown is Kralik. Neither the glass nor the decor of the barrel are identical to Crocus's, but they are an indication of possible tendencies. The Crocus and the barrel are mine, the banded vase is from kralik-glass.com.

A very good example of the difficulties inherent in collecting Czech glass of this period and a wonderful addition to the ongoing complex discussion!
