This wool blanket was my paternal grandfather's. I don't know if he brought it from England or acquired it in Canada. He came to Canada in 1904 and went to Manitoba to trap. I was just given the blanket and can't make out the label on it. It says trade mark to the left and looks like it may have ships on it. However I could be wrong. My Dad seems to think it was made in England. It is black, grey, green, blue and red. It is approximately 70" x 55". Any information would be greatly appreciated.
No expert here, buy thinking Hudson Bay blanket. I know they came in diff. grades of thickness & high quality.
Thanks blunderbuss2, my Dad said it was a HBC blanket but it doesn't have the usual HBC label.
I did a quick look & there doesn't appear to be a standard tag. They were made by diff. companies & Tags changed also with years.
