An antique gun powder flask, made of brass.
I got it from my grandfather. it seems to be more than 150 year old as the rusting on the flask can tell. Also had a spoon attached to it with a measuring cup too...
    1st Pic - Cap closed
    2nd Pic - cap opened
3rd Pic - U can see the spoon attached at it`s neck
4th Pic - View at mouth
Still can`t figure out , how the powder was taken out and poured in gun....

I have my doubts about this being for powder.

Well blunderbuss2 ,,, kindly solve the mystery....

Well, I've collected black powder guns & accouterments for 61 yrs. & have never seen a powder flask that looked like this . You only give us 1 pic to go on. What is the spout looking thing ? The mouth is too large to pour powder without spilling . (maybe for a blunderbuss) The mouth would not seal waterproof. I'm sure it's for something else. Maybe somebody will recognize it's purpose since you tagged it "Unsolved".

It looks like the hinge pin of that spout(?) has been replaced with a piece of copper wire & appears to me to be put back, backwards possibly. The other way, it could be used to help pour, whatever, out of the spout.

Yes,,,the spout can be moved to and fro.....I think this was for camel mounted wide mouthed blunderbuss guns...which were common in this part of India...
Well,, thank u so much for your interest

With that type of seal, I wouldn't want it on my side when I'm firing Blk. Pdr. . Well, you have declared it a powder flask even though the only feature in common is the brass/copper. So be it.
