I found this vase on a flea market and bought because I liked it and wanted to find out more. I thought it looked quite different from the many types of Scandinavian glass I usually see, and thanks to a post by Alfredo I now know that it is a 1930’s art deco Kralik vase! Some date this decor a little later. I don’t think this is the right forum to start explain what Kralik is, so I’ll just display it!
Height: 13.5 cm. The condition isn't very good, but it cost very little and you can't tell anyway when there are flowers in it - and that looks great!
Here is Alfredo’s post: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/33261-kralik-1930s-imported-glassware
Woo! Is all I can say: what a great find!
A lovely smoky ground.
If I am not mistaken, this is actually a glass for a lemonade set.
lovely blue!!
Many thanks, everybody! Sean - yes, I like the colour too! Ian: At first I must admit that I thought it was dirty, but then I realised that it was made with this 'shading', which I now find adds a little extra! Welzebub: It might be. I tried to find more, but I was overwhelmed by the amounts of info to be found about Kralik glass!
its a very nice pattern on a rare shape, congratz
Thanks, kralik1928!
