I know a company called Lamberti make chemicals and there is a Restaurant chain called Lamberti so I assume its from them. Much like a Scottish Quaich but with one handle. So would anyone know where is it from and what is it for?
Nice little piece Geode....Looks like a wine steward or "sommelier's" tastevin. A tastevin is a small, very shallow silver cup or saucer traditionally used by winemakers and sommeliers when judging the maturity and taste of a wine. The wear it around their neck on a chain. So this was used in the restaurant you mentioned. :)
Good shot Mike!!!
Cheers :-)
Should be silver too. Check around for a mark some where :)
I have one posted here. Mine is Sterling Silver. I didn't know what it was, either. Had never seen or heard of one before.

Many of these are also silver plated, and some are made from pewter. The silver marks on mine are on the thumb rest.
Well well thank you, Efesgirl, Mikelv85, Kyratango. A quick mystery solved always an education with your guys on this website.
