I brought these two back from different flea markets a number of years ago. No original clothes (those clothes have got to go!). The smaller one has a softer body; the other one has a hard body and her squeaker is broken. I don't know how to fix it without risking breaking the "button" in her back. The other one's squeaker works fine. The smaller one also has a better defined body, having visible nipples and creases/wrinkles/dimples where the other does not. Both have metal eye sockets. Both are nameless. No information printed anywhere.

Also - how do I clean them without ruining them? Soap and water just doesn't cut through the tough stuff.

    Thanks, all!

Hi Efsgirl , your dolls appear to made b same company and would say they are European made . They were high quality dolls and eyes are wonderful . They appear to be both hard vinyl heads and one made have a hard plastic body the other vinyl. They would date 1960-70's appx . Hard to know who made them French or Italy comes to mind but with no marks they were never sold in USA where I am . If you email me I will tell you about cleaning them :-) Manikin1234@hotmail.com . Thanks for sharing these little treasures

Manikin - I went upstairs and squeezed the dolls (lol). The little one is all vinyl, including her head. Soft to the touch. The other one has very hard plastic legs. Her torso is also hard. Her arms are somewhat pliable and her head is exactly like the small's one's head - a softer vinyl. I can easily squeeze their heads. How strange. Like the 1960s Barbies with the soft heads and hard bodies.

Good morning :-) Your dolls are vinyl and one with hard plastic body is not uncommon to have a vinyl head and hard plastic body . You mentions a button in her back which tells me she had a hard body to protect mechanism in her . I would think she may have talked . Can you show me back of her ? They are the same face mold so same company just different versions of her . I am amazed at the high quality of there eyes which tell me Europe made dolls .

Hiya Manikin - I will send you photos tomorrow of the dolls, back and front. The bigger doll used to "cry" like the smaller one, but all I hear inside now is rattling, as part of the mechanism has fallen down inside her.
