I have a habit of sitting at my breakfast table having a cup of coffee and reading the local Craig's List ad for bargainsBy the way this is an excellent source as I have found everything from Art Deco glass to Native Anerican Indian rugs and jewelry. About 7 months ago I found this arts and crafts grand father clock listed for sale. The clock was moved down from upstate New Yorkby the family but didn't fit in to their Florida condo decor because it didn't have a palm tree anywhere on it.The ad read first 40.00 takes it!!!Luckily I wAs the first responder and purchased it on the spot.
I was really shocked when I picked it up the beautiful oak case has the original finish. On the back as I was unloading it at home I noticed a mark on the back that was branded into the wood . It looks like a large upside down U and then ais ok Jan and a name beneath that that is hard to make out.The seller said it didn't work . I put it in the corner dusted it off and it's been working fine ever since.
Thanks for the love I'm sorry that the picture is so terrible!!!
That sounds like a Gustav Stickley logo
