Hi this is a button I found whilst metal detecting.
The button has a crown at the top and a wreath around it. Also it looks like maybe a cross in the middle?
Tried researching and have gone no where so any help would be great!
Thanks
A photo of the back may also help, and it can easily be added by editing your item. :)
Hi, the back is in very bad condition with a chunk missing, the only thing on the back what is readable is the word 'London'
Sorry to chime is so late.
My best guess (and I think it's a good one) is that this is a regimental tunic button from the Somerset Light Infantry (Prince Albert's). post 1881. Here's an example:

The clues are the strung hunting horn in the center, which most often is associated with light infantry, and the "mural crown" rather than the crown of the monarch. Mural crowns represent walled cities, which this regiment wears to commemorate the siege of Jellalabad in 1841-2.
