About 8 inches long. Spring still works to keep the handles apart but I'm not sure what it's made to hold when you squeeze it. Any ideas?

It is to pull out teeth. Maybe animals teeth.

I'm not a dentist nor have I played one on TV, but I do have an antique tooth puller.

I can't visualize how this would work pulling teeth. Maybe the poster could tell us what the marks are.

I've seen similar tools. The key is the arched cutter. they were used to trim the snout of pigs to prevent rooting. The hooked bottom has me confused, so, I'm not sure of it's purpose
