My new computer desk?

Found this desk at a yard sale recently. I love the patina and I'm thinking of using it for a computer desk. It has a 73 stamped on back board of drawer. No other markings. I also found the joints interesting. Any information about age and origin is greatly appreciated. Also any advice on how to clean and preserve it would be a big help. Thanks in advance.
