I am wondering how I can find out more information about this piece. I did a search on the Internet and found out it is a Limoges D&C France Jardiniere Vase & Plinth w/ Lion Head Handles and Claws, pink, yellow and burgundy peonies. It has two markings on the bottom D&C France stamped and JB hand painted in gold. It appears to be Porcelain, VERY heavy, and hand painted. To my dismay the paint seems to be wearing off and it looks like it needs a cleaning. Is this marking an artists marking? Can anyone tell me anything about this piece? I could not find it on the Internet
Hi, welcome to CW!
Beautiful large piece!
Maker: D&Co = Delinières, mark for 1895/1900, see there:

Couldn't find J.B yet, it is for the decorator who painted the piece :-)
Thanks. Do you think this was a blank that was painted by an artist ..JB?
In this time, decorators could be appointed by one maker, or work for several on custom pieces :-)
I just found it kind of curious that I found it sold on two different websites and the range was unbelievable. One sold for $90 while the other for $950. They looked identical. It made me really want to research whether the blank of the original would sell for more. Anyway thanks for your help. I wish there was more information out there about it.
I sold one exactly like this in the early 2000 for $1100 on eBay. Perfect condition. Many are Amatuer painted, but it may be an artist for a number of factories as others have said, I found one by Pouyat also signed JB.
