I found this huge Gouda Holland pottery Jardinare at an estate sale
that was being held in an ocean front condo All the items were very new other then this Jardinare It was over looked by everyone because it had a large fake fern in it.I was captivated by the colors of this and got it plant and all for 25.00..I have since added more pieces of this pottery to my collection.I was able to get 11 more pieces from a collector who passed away bringing my total to an even dozen.
beautiful!!
Pretty pot. Gouda has great stuff. I have a number of pieces decorating my 1950s/1960s room.
Thanks for the love this the only one that I was lucky to find at an estate sale . all the others are from the collection of a big time hoarder collector that recently passed. His heirs didn't want to bother with an estate or garage sale so they sold me 3 storage units of stuff all packed up in boxesthat they couldn't be bothered to look into. All I had to do was pay 4 months of back storage rent. My garage now resemble a storage locker .The Gouda pots were on the first banana box that I opened.Itdlike a treasure to me as I was not allowed to pick and choose it was all or nothing!!!
Along with the good story, I love it when you come across something with a signature that's absolutely readable. All potters went to the doctors school of writing, or may be the other way around.
Junkman your Gouda Collection is gorgeous , love the vibrant colors and designs and your story of getting the collection with the exception of your pot purchased from the estate sale is great ! Now to unpack the rest of the storage unit and photograph & show us your finds . Thanks for sharing
Thank you for your nice comments!!! The Gouda collection was just the first box of many that I have to go through yet.I would love to share my finds when I unpack them.
I'll be right over to help you unpack~!!! :-))))
