There is a big G Clef symbol and what sort of looks like an upside down Omega symbol (or not!), numbers which can be read and other numbers which are almost too rubbed to decipher. I see what could be a "585"with more than half of it badly rubbed.
I didn't find anything on the web other than a reference to the G Clef mark on watches which means silver plate. These aren't plated nor do they qualify as a watch, LOL!

Could the upside down omega be a Saint-Jacques shell?
The G clef is perhaps a maker's mark/logo, try a search for "clé de Sol" in french :-)

I can certainly see why you're frustrated, that mark is a mess, lol. What I can see from the last photo, looks like a 5 and an 8 then below a 9 and an X?
As for the treble clef, this was the only reference I could find, but they made cutlery:

katherine - what looks like a 5 and an 8 is probably the mark for 14K gold, 585. I haven't figured out the rest yet, even with following the suggestion given by kyra. Think this is going to be a tough one! I have never seen silver/gold jewelry with a G Clef symbol on it. I wonder if the other letters have something to do with the earrings perhaps being a registered design. * sigh *
