So I bought this tie clip with a bunch of vintage tie clips and cufflinks. I showed it to my friendly neighborhood jeweler who said the top section appears to be stamped where it was attached to the clip, but couldn't make out what the stamp said. He thought the clip may have been Balinese or Thai because of the figures on the tieclip. I asked if it was enameled, he said no. Something about a paste that I didn't understand. If anyone can shed some light on what's going on with this tieclip, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Also, what are those figures? Thanks for looking.
MYSTERY SOLVED: Both racer4four and Efesgirl led me to look up Niello, this is a type of jewelry made in Siam/Thailand depicting Yin and Yang dancers. The lady is Mekkalla, the Goddess of Lightning, not sure about the fellow yet. Thanks, my friends! :)

Yes, this is Niello tie clip made in Siam. Much of this sort of jewelry dates from the 1950s. I have a pair of whacky teapot earrings made in Siam in the 1940s.

some where in this hoard of jewelry I have is a pair of clip on earrings with a shield shape....with Niello dancers on them.
