This is another one of my treasures I purchased from the grand bazaar in Istanbul, Turkey in the 80s.It has blue enamelled oval cabachons with lovely bead work surrounding the cabachons and half rounded rope work between the stones and is in sterling silver. This piece is a good example of the workmanship of silversmith artisans from Turkey.
It is gorgeous. Having lived in Turkey, I was lucky to have seen many beautiful pieces of jewelry and have a friend in Dalyan who is a goldsmith. Much of what is sold in the shops in places like Dalyan and Kas are made in Istanbul. I also find many pieces of Turkish silver and gold here in the Netherlands. I previously owned to pieces made by Sezgin.
The inserts you call enamel look like real turquoise. Lovely design.
Thank you davyd286 for your lovely comments:) It does look like turquoise but it is enamelled with a ruskin type pottery cabachon.
Thank-you for the love!:)
