I recently started making these oak display cases to house my badge collection, although small...It won't take me long!lol
Here is one from the local Red-Men group, the Luloosa Tribe Improved Order of the Red Men. Not in perfect shape, but I have only seen 1 other in a collection and it wasn't perfect either.Made by The Whitehead & Hoag Co. Newark N.J. and the last patent date listed is 1896.
This may not be a perfect way to store them but it is better than laying in a zip-lock back in a box of other items. At least I can display it now!
Thanks for looking and enjoy!
Amer. patriotic Indians. They never got the word ?
I'm afraid of what the clip will do, but it works.
Wonderful piece.
the steel tack that was nailed through it didn't help it at all....or the moth...
But a hard, tight clip sinking its flat teeth into fabric?
I have used strips of masking tape on the gripping surface of these type clips & works well. NO, SB ! I haven't ck'd to see if the masking tape is acid free !
It is the adhesive that is the concern in newer tapes. With older tapes, the hole thing was permanent ruin.
The adhesive side goes on the clip jaws .
actually the "teeth" are smooth stainless steel with no actual teeth, the angle of the "teeth" (almost parallel with the ribbon) and the small amount of pressure that this clip can't produce is why I choose it.The "cut " tack that someone had used to nail it up years ago was more of a worry to me!I did carefully remove it!
Thanks for the love and concern!lol
Ditto on the "LOL"
Thanks for the love everyone!
Nice job on the case!
