I have owned a pair of these maple Windsors for about 5 years now. Their lines & beautiful details just made me fall in love with them. As I was moving furniture around today I noticed a label on the bottom of one of them & would just love to know the maker....don't really care about the value. Does this label look familiar to anyone? Of course, you can see the numbers 780-34... I think there are more numbers after the 4. Also you can see "nsin". I'm thinking Wisconsin. That's all I've got. Any help would surely be appreciated.

Sherryschairs: I have this entire dining room set with 4 side chairs and 2 with arms just like yours. They were purchased by my parents in the early 1940s and they are still beautiful and strong today! They were purchased with oval drop leaf table with gated legs. I think the label you have is Heywood Wakefield's early paper sticker which was their early trademark.

Thank you so much! You've been so sweet to take time to respond to my inquiry. So you really think my chairs & your set are Heywood Wakefield? Do any of the pieces of your set have the same tag as mine or any tag at all? I'd love to see your set & a pic of any makers mark or tag. My email address is: sherryd55@ec.rr.com. Again, thank you for taking the time to reply.

I have a pair of Windsors very like these, but with much more modern lines, mid-century style, straight and no nod to antique curves with the exception of the thumb holes at the top, like yours. I don't know how to post pictures, because I want to know more about these beauties, too. They are very finely made and comfortable. I believe they're maple, as there are hints of flame across one of the top pieces, and the grain is very tight. If you can tell me how to add photos, please do. Thanks! And congratulations on your discovery!
