This is a Jema Holland Large Double Pigeon Clock numbered (427).
Tis a tricky little birdy as it confused me no end when I first purchased it.
It is so similar to two (2) different versions Jema made of a (428) model which I will showcase shortly.
Spotting the difference I gues first off is easy if you can read the number under the base, (see pic 3).
But what confused me was some 427's came with Large Mechanisms and some came with only Medium mechanisms? Notice the base pattern in this clock compare to the 428 I will show and tell shortly.
Confused yet? So I am not 100% certain what really was the original Sixe Mechanism that was to go into this particular clock. I would say collectors have played about with sizing for example if they had a broken one maybe they just replaced with incorrect sized Mechanism. I'll let you know once I solve this great mystery. For now though I must admit I love the Pigeons regardless.
