I was hoping someone might know if this decanter was a Whitefriars? It measures 10" (12 with stopper) by about 5" at widest. ANY information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Lynn
Can't figure how to rotate pictures on here
Lynn the pictures are always like that when loaded from an ithing unless you do some sort of minor edit first. It annoys lots of us.
This is a really attractive decanter and although the shape is certainly reminiscent of WF I think it is just a similar design.
Is the stopper ground or is that a plastic sleeve on it?
WF glass of this style was generally cased in clear glass and this is not.
I know there is a Whitefriar's group on Facebook who could give you a definite yes or no.
Hi
It is Italian Stromboli re-make/fake from Helena Tynell's "Emma" vase. They did same thing to "Aurinkopullo" as well.
...and "Stella Polaris"(Nanny Still) bottle.
Sorry about typo, it is Italian Empoli.
Thank you for the infromation both racer4four and Vintahe_Joe! So much more to go on. As for the stopper it does have a threaded plastic sleeve.
Again, thank you both, Lynn
It is, as Vintage_Joe says, an Empoli copy of a gorgeous vase (not a bad copy either). Most definitely not Whitefriars.
