Petitviole…
(4 items)
A detailed description of my unique lamp. A 3 stage (nightlight in base, main and both) pitcher style lamp in which I haven't seen before. The beautiful glass base appears upside down by traditional standards. Have not found anything similar online. The items components are made of blown glass (few air bubbles), possible copper or bronze and possible walnut. The glass base is lead with what appears to be gold foil or flakes incorporated into technique. The spout appears bronze or copper with a brass finish. And wood seems walnut. There is a manufacturer code F6037 inside the spout. The cap to hold glass and wood in place seems tin or steel and has rust and greening from age. My desire to share this odd unique piece also leaves room for opinion, it to me seems vintage Spanish Hollywood regency possibly but i also had a professional opinion stating he thinks it could be European or not and possibly from the 1940s-1950s.
Have not seen one like this on CW before !
I found a lamp very similar to the one you have. I won a storage unit at auction most item in the unit are from the 40s. I kept the lamp as I found it to be very unique. I have not been able to find much information on it until I came across your article. Thank you at least I have some information on it’s possible origin.
