They look similar to the type of merchandise my mother sold in her Japanese gift shop in the mid 1960s to the mid 1980s. All of her merchandise were made in Japan for either the tourist industry or for the export industry, with (MADE IN) JAPAN either stamped directly on the goods, like yours, or printed on a small sticker.
