Here’s a large hand-blown bottle, or container, in a beautiful brown/amber colour. The container was meant for various technical purposes (most likely for laboratory or medicinal use) and is listed in the 1909 Holmegaard catalogue under containers (although it may have been made later than that). I have had this bottle for years (my father gave it to me) and I’ve never given it much thought, but recently I decided to see if I could find out a little more which turned out to be quite easy, thanks to the great online resources available!

Height: 33 cm. Cubic content: 6 litres.

I see what looks like a ring/band just below the lip. If seams continue to the top, or if seams-- not stations-- make up the ring/band, it is machine-made and probably 10 years or more after 1909.

It was likely either for bulk medicine or laboratory uses, as you said.
Most glass bottle catalogs looked fairly similar, if not the same.

Thanks, SpiritBear - you may be right that it is a little later.
