UPDATE: Fenton Candle Plate (for a good laugh, please continue reading); Again, as is usual, mystery solved by TallCakes; thank you, sir!

Orig.Post: Ok, so the sticker indicates this would be 1985-1996. This is 2" tall, and a little over 6" across. I looked through every catalog from 1985-96 and as is par for the course for me, I couldn't find the darn thing. I have no clue what to call this -- I saw one on Ebay that called itself "Opalescent Iridescent Vaseline Mini Ruffled Cake Plate" -- so would that be close? This is a family piece, however, I'm clueless. Oh, and at the risk of sounding stupid, why a miniature cake plate? Who is going to make a miniature cake?

also check the Fenton QVC database; this is called a candleplate. I think this the same:

Oh wow! Boy do I feel dumb, LOL. TallCakes, you gotta be cracking up at me now. OK, so it's a candleplate. Will get this corrected asap. Thanks, again, TallCakes for all you do.

hey, it works as a small cake plate for me : ) a mini-cake or large cupcake would look nice on this. Fenton made many special pieces for QVC that will not be found in their regular catalogs...
    9. MyFavoriteTreasures MyFavoriteTreasures, 9 years ago
I didn't realize QVC had different pieces; actually, I know ZERO about Fenton - I just happened to have some family pieces given to me; I guess I'll have to up my game!! And Yes, a giant chocolate fudge or devil's food cupcake would be great on this! Yum, now I'm hungry!
    10. katherinescollections katherinescollections, 9 years ago
Sir TallCakes FTW!!! A candleplate on QVC, see, only he would know that!!!

And I totally agree, a cupcake on there would be the sweetest thing ever! :)

LOL, yes, here I was trying to figure out who and/or why in the world anyone would want a miniature cake plate. If I'm gonna bake a cake, I want a BIG one LOL; Go figure! I'm still laughing at myself! TallCakes, I know you must get a kick out of watching us amateurs trying to sort all this out LOL.

I made a some mini-carrot cakes for gifts a few weeks ago that would fit perfectly on this. And.. this is the 'Hobstar and Feather' pattern originally by Indiana Glass c1908; AKA: Fern Burst.
    13. MyFavoriteTreasures MyFavoriteTreasures, 9 years ago
TallCakes, see, there you go - all you need are some Fenton Candleplates to hold those mini-gift-cakes you make! And thank you for the pattern ID, and thank you, for all you do!
