This is a Rusby patent extendable drill brace made in Newark, N.J. Note that both the crank and the drive shaft are adjustable to suit the particular circumstances of the job. The crank has 5 positions giving various amounts of torque and the drive shaft has three, extending from 16" o/a to 25". The bevel-gear drive allows the brace to operate within about 1 1/4" of a wall or ceiling (with the top knob removed). Not rare, but at least scarce. It always puts me in mind of a machine gun. The iron casting of the frame is a work of art in itself!
How cool is that!
