Leather postcards began in about 1903. The Post Office banned them in 1907 due to their jamming cancelling machines. This as a novelty continued till 1915. They are made of deer hide with images burned in (pyrography) and are often inked over. They were made to be laced, sewed, or stiched together as pillow cases/decor.
This one is likely from the earlier side. Pre-1908.
I picked this one as I love bears, and it's from my town. Notice the foot of a person quickly diving for dear life into a cave away from the cartoon-like bears.
"Looking for you in Muskegon."
Well, are you lost? LOL.
