Hello! Inwas hoping someone could help me find out more information about this...unsure if it is real or even what kind of dish it is! Sugar bowl? The backstamp is very faint, and I have only been able to find similar gilded rose items in the moriage style...any further information would be appreciated. Thank you! :)

The "maple leaf" backstamp dates back to 1891. If the maple leaf itself measures 1/4" , it's authentic. If it measures 1/2",it's a fake. I collect Nippon sugar bowls; this one is gorgeous...I'm drooling! Where did you find it?

I actually found this little gem at Value Village, tucked behind some dog bowls! The back stamp is sooo faded, but I can definitely tell that the maple leaf is 1/4 inch - it is very very small! I will take clearer photos to show you...I cannot believe the kind of condition it is in after all this time!
