This is a saucer that goes with my Belleek Shamrock Mustache Cup I posted. I bought them both in the same auction lot and they are in awesome condition.
Belleek Shamrock Saucer
2nd Black mark that dates it between 1891 - 1926
Large basket weave pattern
Center ring is brown.
The shamrocks are in groups of three with three leaves each. There are two patterns to them.
The first pattern group is two dark green leaves and one light green leaf on the left and right with the top having two light green leaves and one dark green leaf.
The second pattern group is two light green leaves with one dark green leaf on the left and right with the top having two dark green leaves with one light green leaf.
The two groups alternate around the center ring.
The bottom is rough while the rest of the body is glazed.
Measurements are approximate:
Diameter: 6"
Center diameter (where the cup rests): 2-1/4"
Height: 3/4"
Just great set. Belleek is always wonderful but to have it with such an Irish motif is so good!
Thank you racer4four. I absolutely love the set and had a hard time finding information online on what to bid on the lot so I just took a chance.
I also scored a few 3rd black mark pieces I have yet to post and a nice Lenox set made between 1906 and 1926. I've been slacking a lot lately with posting.
I limit my Belleek collecting to 3rd black mark and previous or my house would be completely full. The rest I sell in my shop, although I might start getting pictures and posting here since I don't see a lot of Belleek in Show & Tell. I bought 17 other pieces 4th mark and above yesterday as well.
Thanks vetraio50 for the love.
