I received this brooch from a work colleague for Christmas. I used to live in South Africa and every year the swallows migrate to Africa from the UK for the summer then back to the UK for the summer here. ( best of both worlds) . She thought the swallow/ swift brooch was very apt. It's not marked, but reminds me of a Pierre Bex brooch. Any ideas if that may be the case and are Pierre Bex brooches marked in any way? Thanks in advance for any help
Very Pierre Bex like! I think his were marked.
This one is marked as P.Bex "style":

In case you don't use it already, here is a useful site to costume jewellery marks:

That one looks very much like mine. Thanks for your help and thanks for the link as well :-)
Oldfashionedgirl, I have the same brooch, kyratango is leading you in the right direction, just as she did with me when I posted mine. Pierre Bex used old Art Deco molds to reproduce these pieces of jewelry, in the 70s as I recall. So presumably someone else also bought and used the molds later that didn't mark their work, or used PB's work to create reproductions. That's what we now own, reproductions of reproductions. Beautiful in any case! :)
That's very interesting, thanks for the information katherinescollections. :-)
