Maybe brass or copper who knows! Curious about history possible age and materials! Maybe brass a real interesting piece! Chinese artwork at its best I think, it is quite heavy but maybe brass plated would also be grateful on any cleaning tips!

Your very symbolic vase appears to be bronze. The double gourd traditionally holds the Elixer of Life and the round symbol on the top section is that of Shou. On the other side is Shou himself, in scholars dress. He is one of the three Chinese Star Gods, representing Jupiter and Longevity, and is often shown holding a double gourd. The mark in photo four is the maker, but marks on metal are very hard to interpret since there are no resources online for identification as there are for porcelain. Nice collectible and a keeper, but do not clean it as you could destroy the patina and seriously reduce it's value.

Thanks wexval! You have been very helpful I'm afraid to say I have attempted to restore it to its former glory using brasso! I think I will take it to the antique shop to try and source the maker, cheers...
