Hi. I have a small, what looks like, hand carved coffee table. 17" h, 35" w, 19" h. It has carving on the ends of the top of the table, & on each side, and on the cabriolet legs. I don't know what type oh wood it is, or the value. I bought it from a private party, she said they bought it an antique store for over $400.00. Ps. The top right of the table has a surface blemish in the finish about 6"x3". Maybe a water stain? Any help? Ty.

What are your plans for the table?

A lot of the hand carved coffee tables were done in the 1940's and I have seen them in antique stores in the early 80's to 90's. Some had carved tops also which was common. Also a lot of them had a glass placed over the top and yours with that design in the wood probably had a glass top. Looks a lot like walnut which a lot of them were.

Thanks! That's the info I was looking for. Had no idea. :)
