Love brooches, even if it is not an animal, it is figural!

A bargain!
Described as silver, with gold pin and clasp.
Upon arrival, I think it is all gold, will have to get it tested :-)
Lacking 2 little sapphires, but as I don't have convenient stones, will remain as is,
2" or 5cm high, 1" or 2.5 cm wide.
I place it in the 1930' era.

What a bargain, kyratango!! Love this beautiful brooch! What are the purple ones, are they sapphires, too? I don't see where the two stones are missing, one blue one, and another purple one, but hardly a blemish overall with this beauty. Winner! :)

Red/pink stones are rubies, fluorescent under UV!

Karen, thank you! I have a big habit of stones, they always interested me from my youngest years, plus a good loupe shows impurities, color stripes and so on. There may be some synthetic sapphires in replacements though...
I discovered recently that rubies (synthetic or naturals) glows with STRONG red fluorescence under UV light, where garnets show none!
