This item has blue and white enameled Mary Gregory decoration, a boy and girl on each side along with floral decorations on opposing sides. The chalice or goblet is marked with N70 on the bottom. The glass is in the inverted Thumbprint pattern which was made my many companies within the US and abroad. I am leaning towards thinking this piece is Bohemian based on the number marking on the base. This lovely piece stands 9" tall, 3 3/4" across the top and 4" across the base. I am curious to know what a large vessel might have been used for.
A large drink?? :-)
The thumbprint in the design and the rim probably make us all think Bohemian. Not my taste but great stuff. There may be more on here that like enamelling in the style of what is called Mary Gregory.
I am with you on that, the glass design in etself is fantastic. Not sure why they would enamel on them. Takes away the beauty of the piece imo , but that's just me.
