    Sellers description
Hand Painted Haviland Limoge porcelain plate. The plate measures approximately 8-1/2" diameter. On the back are two Haviland marks. The Green mark is for the Haviland Parent company 1842 - 1931, this is when the porcelain was made. The Red mark is the decorators mark from 1889 - 1931. The hand Painted plate is decorated with blues and trimmed with gold. There are four Peacocks circling the plate.

    Annes excitement
Haviland produced 1,000's of plate in this period. Limoges would then buy and have an artist paint. There are many one off's, infact I cannot find this pattern at all but there is a possibilty this was a dinner set. Possibly commissioned during the art nouveau period as a dinner set for a family who had an appreciation for art. You can tell it is a plate from a dinner set because the centre was not painted on.

As I love art nouveau I couldn't resist purchasing. Please enjoy...

thanks Karen, they re lovely, arent they. :)

Yes Fran, when I first saw it, the colours interested me but I couldn't see the peacocks until I looked properly, then I found them. All 4 of them. But these colours I adore together and especially with the thick gold border around them.

Hope you are well. Is it me who owes you an email lol?

      rose i got your message
does it say Worcester, what makes you think it is?
      My only comments are
      it looks stoneware or ironstone
      the metal hanger looks 1920-30'ss
the pattern is hard to get if it's Worcester, it's not a pattern
