Last addition to the colorful enamel dragonflies!

    Unmarked silver,7.6cm long, 5.2cm wide.

She arrived in pretty bad shape... Hinge peg was replaced by a simple bended sewing pin...
Rear left leg lacking... And, of course, consequent enamel damage...

Replaced the hinge peg with a piece of silver wire, shaped a leg from same silver wire and soldered it.
After a good clean and polish of the oxidised wings, redo of the enamel with 3D nail polish,
Permanent marker in blue and green, then a layer of top coat nail polish...

1 hour later here is the result :-D

Last pic is the growing group of the flashy Bzz Bzz.

      hi kyra
      They look great.
Can I ask you though as a serious collector, how do you feel about restoring in this way? How old are the items and do think it affects the items value at all?
I'm only asking as a fellow collector, it's not a loaded question... :)
    25. kyratango kyratango, 9 years ago
      Hi Anne!
They are all early 20th century, I buy them broken or damaged for cheap.

A restored piece is higher than a broken one but far lower than mint ... But anyway I'm not intended to sell them :-)

My restore are mostly reversible, except for UV curing resin on plique a jour enamel!

Thank you for your interest and question :-)

So much repairable old pieces are discarded because of their wounds...
