When I go to flea markets and thrift shops and see one or two vintage glasses I can't leave them behind so I bring them home to make gifts for my family and friends. These are actually very sturdy and hold up better as containers for candles than some purchased from candle companies. I use soy wax in these because it does not get as hot as paraffin or palm. When the candle is done they have a pretty glass to use or they will let me know it NEEDS to be filled up again :)

Hi MeliG, I love your post but I have 2 blown caged vases that have candles in them and I would love to get the wax out. Any tips?
Thank you one good find. I you could stick some paper towel down in them, then place the vase in water that is about 120 degrees to melt it, you would be able to wipe it out. Just use a wooden spoon to move the paper towel around. If it is soy wax you can use soapy water to wash it out after majority is absorbed. If paraffin or palm you will just have to keep working the paper towel in there to get it all.
